Then, I decided to spruce up the rest of the sections. Although it’s pretentious, I’m still leaving that PhD suffix. It just feels good and I’m still not completely healed from grad school trauma.

My title “Smart Infrastructure Advisor” is admittedly off-target, but it plainly summarizes my tenure with Siemens. Establishing trust is what I do in every project, program, or portfolio. So, I suppose I’m advisor. Building intelligent systems is a common theme as well. So, I guess it’s Smart Infrastructure.

Moving onto my bio, I wanted to be concise in a way that would explain my career in a single breath if I had to blurt it out like a weirdo on an elevator. Assuming no one reads my sentences entirely, I started each line with quick descriptors that would leave an impression.

“Engineer with doctorate”,

“Experienced Quality Manager & Consultant”,

“Certified Project Manager”,

“Lifelong Educator”

How did that feel?

Hopefully it made you feel a little dizzy like a hit of nicotine, but makes you want to return when you feel stressed.

Regarding my work experiences: I often wonder if my eight professional experiences since 2001 is too many. I’m approaching four years with current company and that’s my longest stretch with any organization since my NASA scholar days. Considering I’ve been working this puzzle for over twenty years, eight pieces seems age appropriate. I don’t write descriptions for any of my roles because I feel like anything I’d say would be incomplete and/or obsolete. I have a one-scroll resume and anyone that needs more detail can visit {darin.ink}.

Finally, the most recent addition to my profile is the Digital Transformation certificate I recently completed with BCG and Darden. Even though it’s a shameless buzzword, Digital Transformation really is a concept that seems to touch almost every element of my work. Like project management, it’s a paradigm shift that’s rocking business culture to the core. I consider myself a change agent in the global technology space, and shit, the cert was free! I still have student loans that are more painful than tattoo removal. Sigh.

Anyways, please follow me on LinkedIn.

Coming soon

{darin.ink} journal

Darin Williams

{darin.ink} i’m sharing my digital journal with like minds.

Subscribe now
